Recap: INREV Young Professionals Mentorship Programme 2024/2025 kick-off in Copenhagen

The INREV Young Professionals Mentorship Programme 2024/2025 brought together an enthusiastic group of young professionals and seasoned mentors in Copenhagen on 3 and 4 July for their first live meeting. The event began with a warm welcome from Hedda Hollander (Director of Events and Education, INREV), followed by an overview of what participants can expect in the coming year. This event marks the beginning of a year-long journey of growth, learning, and professional development for our new cohort of mentees and mentors.

The first evening featured a series of team building exercises and group discussions on critical topics such as personal branding, networking, career progression, leadership skills, and industry trends. These sessions were led by Ernst Dekker and Tica Peeman, who provided valuable insights and practical advice to help participants navigate the programme and get the most out of it.

One of the key components of the day was the team networking sessions, where mentees and mentors had the opportunity to meet, share their experiences and backgrounds, and discuss their expectations for the programme. The group dinner was a perfect occasion to lay the foundation for strong relationships to develop over the next year.

Mentees and mentors were matched in small groups of three, enabling an intimate and supportive environment for discussions and learning. Each mentee will also have the opportunity for one-on-one sessions with their mentor, ensuring personalised guidance and mentorship.

The kick-off event in Copenhagen is just the beginning of an exciting year for the participants of the Young Professionals Mentorship Programme. The next in-person meeting for all participants will be at the INREV Academy Day in London on 12 November 2024. This event will provide another opportunity for mentees and mentors to connect, share their progress, and continue their professional development journey.

The Young Professionals Mentorship Programme has already proven to be a valuable experience for many, and we are excited to see the positive impact it will have on the careers of our new participants. Together, we are building a stronger, more connected industry for the future.
