The INREV Quarterly Fund Index delivered capital growth of 2.2% in Q3 2021, up from 1.9% recorded in Q2 2021.
The Q3 2021 release includes 343 funds with a combined GAV of €305.4 billion.
Key highlights:
- Total returns improved modestly to 2.8% in Q3 2021, 19 bps up from the previous quarter.
- Core funds continued to display robust results, posting a total return of 2.9% in Q3 2021. Returns of their value added peers slowed to 2.0%, leading to an increase in the performance gap between the two strategies to 93 bps.
- The increase in Q3 performance was mostly country driven, with the UK and Germany single country strategies standing out the most.
- In terms of sectors, retail strategies saw a sharp recovery in performance this quarter, with capital growth turning positive for the first time in thirteen consecutive quarters.
