European ODCE Index’s performance back to positive territory in Q2 2024

The European ODCE Index returned 0.19% in Q2 2024, the best quarterly performance since Q2 2022.

Key highlights:

  • The Q2 2024 return is a 74 bps improvement on the -0.56% reported in Q1 2024.
  • At -0.64, capital growth is still in negative territory, albeit it improved by 55 bps quarter-on-quarter
  • After 16 consecutive quarters of decline, the office market share slid to 33.3% of the index.
  • First negative index level net inflows since inception
  • At the end of Q2 2024, the gross asset value (GAV) of the index stood at €41.8 billion across the 16 participating funds, €0.4 billion below the previous quarter.

The Index is wholly comprised of open end core commingled equity real estate funds that have a strategy to invest across pan Europe and across multiple sectors. Funds must comply with a strict eligibility criteria for four consecutive quarters in a row to be included in the index.
