The INREV Fund Structuring: Tax Considerations course provides a practical understanding of tax aspects to consider when structuring a new vehicle. It is offered in a series of three sessions over two weeks and includes Q&A and group discussions. Participants will develop a good understanding of where fund structuring sits in the tax landscape, as well as key tax drivers of a robust non-listed real estate vehicle structure.

This course will cover sustainable tax structures from both a fund strategy and investor point of view. The course will also examine the effect of new tax regimes on the non-listed real estate industry with a special focus on INREV’s Code of Tax Conduct, as well as the implications of ATAD (Anti-Tax Avoidance Directive) I, II and III.
With a combination of presentations, Q&A and group discussions, participants will learn how to execute and integrate tax considerations into the fund structuring process. The course will end with a case study in subgroups.

- Introduction to tax structuring
- INREV Code of Tax Conduct
- ATAD I, II and III and related examples and issues
- Substance
- Practical examples of how rules should be implemented across jurisdictions
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Recognise and analyse key tax drivers of effective fund structuring
- Understand recent changes and trends in tax structuring
- Be familiar with the INREV Code of Tax Conduct
- Recognise ATAD rules and their implications across jurisdictions
- Be familiar with substance
This course is suited for experienced industry professionals who aim to improve their understanding of tax implications for fund structuring. This can include professionals in legal or tax teams from institutional investors or investment managers, as well as legal and tax advisors. Applicants should have several years of experience within the real estate funds industry and be familiar with the tax environment for funds.
