Sustainable Investment Principles

On 30 May, we held our online briefing on ‘Sustainable Investment Principles: assessing sustainable investments under SFDR’. Abigail Dean, Global Head of Strategic Insights at Nuveen Real Assets, introduced the recently published Sustainable Investment Principles paper, which helps investors and investment managers assess sustainable investments under SFDR Article 2(17) by clarifying the regulation and suggesting additional indicators to align with current market ambitions.

The paper outlines a step-by-step approach, covering social/environmental contributions, DNSH themes, PAI indicators, and governance. It also includes a checklist for funds under SFDR Article 9(3), helping real estate transition funds develop carbon reduction strategies by implementing science-based standards and methodologies.
