The Q1 2021 Global IRR Index reveals funds launched in 2019 delivered an average IRR of -7.4%, the weakest performance of all vintages in the sample.
The sixth Global IRR index consultation release includes 338 closed end funds across vintages from pre-2002 to 2019 with a non-core manager defined strategy.
Key highlights
- The strongest performing 2013 and 2010 vintages recorded average IRRs of 18.4% and 17.7%, respectively
- Newly launched multi country funds outperformed their single country peers, posting IRRs of 7.7% and 1.2%, respectively
- Asian funds with a first closing between 2017 and 2019 post strong results, displaying an equally weighted IRR of 17.7%
