Negative performance persists in Q1 2024

The European ODCE Index returned -0.56% in Q1 2024, the best quarterly performance since Q2 2022.

Key highlights include:

  • The capital growth increased by 390 bps to -1.20% compared to -5.10% recorded in Q4 2023.
  • At the end of Q4 2023, the gross asset value (GAV) of the index stood at €42.2 billion across the 16 participating funds, €0.4 billion above the previous quarter.
  • The share of industrial logistics assets in the index fell for the first time in four quarters to 30.3%.
  • The net capital flows reached €212 million at the index level, by the end of the quarter. This represents a slight drop compared to the €281 million equivalent posted in Q4 2023.

The Index is wholly comprised of open end core commingled equity real estate funds that have a strategy to invest across pan Europe and across multiple sectors. Funds must comply with a strict eligibility criteria for four consecutive quarters in a row to be included in the index.
