The European ODCE Index shows impact of COVID-19 

The sixth consultation release of the European ODCE Index includes 13 funds which represent gross asset value (GAV) of €32.2 billion.

Key highlights of the European ODCE Index Q1 2020:

  •  The Q1 2020 data collection was accompanied by a questionnaire on the impact of COVID-19 on valuations. The majority of respondents to the questionnaire indicate that a large part of their real estate portfolios were valued under the “Material Uncertainty” clause. 
  • The European ODCE Index delivered a quarterly return of -0.14% over Q1 2020, down from 2.61% posted in the previous quarter 
  • GAV of ODCE participating funds increased to €32.2 billion over Q1, up from €31.3 in the previous quarter

The Index is wholly comprised of open end core commingled equity real estate funds that have a strategy to invest across pan Europe and across multiple sectors. Funds must comply with a strict eligibility criteria for four consecutive quarters in a row to be included in the index.
