European ODCE Index sees positive capital growth for the first time in ten quarters

The European ODCE Index showed a significant improvement in performance, with a return of 0.93% in Q4 2024, up from 0.03% a quarter earlier The total gross asset value (GAV) of the European ODCE Quarterly Fund Index stood at €41.9 billion at the end of Q4 2024.

Key highlights:

  • Capital growth stood at 0.08%, turning positive for the first time in ten quarters.
  • At the end of 2024, the one year rolling total return stood at 0.60%, which is a remarkable increase over the 2023 equivalent, which was -10.37%.
  • The ODCE Index outperformed the wider INREV core Pan-European multi country - multi sector excluding ODCE vehicles segment, which returned 0.25% in Q4 2024.
  • Net flows turned negative again in Q4 2024, after turning positive a quarter earlier.

European ODCE Quarterly Index

The Index is wholly comprised of open end core commingled equity real estate funds that have a strategy to invest across pan Europe and across multiple sectors. Funds must comply with a strict eligibility criteria for four consecutive quarters in a row to be included in the index.
