Real estate investor Altera, on behalf of the Altera Residential Fund, is taking the next step in its strategic partnership with BAM Wonen by boosting the sustainability of 47 ground-level homes in Voorhout. These homes, built in the 1980s, are being upgraded as part of Altera’s ambition to make its residential portfolio Paris Proof by 2040. The redevelopment work is due for completion in the summer of 2025.
The project will bring the energy label for these properties up to A or A+. The upgrade includes the installation of a heat exchanger, roof and floor insulation, and replacing the glass in external doors and windows with HR+++ glazing. Many of the existing solar panels will be reinstalled once the roof has been renewed. The sustainability measures are being implemented with the full agreement of the residents. The project is expected to reduce gas consumption by around 40% and CO2 emissions by around 50% compared to current levels.
