INREV takes the privacy of its members’ data very seriously. Like most organisations, we fall under the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into effect on 25 May, 2018. This regulation overhauled data protection and privacy rules in the EU.

As an industry body with transparency as one of its major goals, INREV wants to make sure you are aware of what personal data we store, how we process it, and why. We are also committed to storing an accurate record of your data in a secure manner.

In line with GDPR, we have already taken steps in this direction. These include:

Privacy Statement and terms and conditions updated to protect your privacy
To clarify how we use your data and information, we have updated our Privacy Statement and Membership Terms and Conditions. You will be prompted to read these documents when you log into the website, if you have not already done so. Once accepted, you can continue to make full use of your membership benefits in the knowledge that your personal data is in safe hands.

New cookie policy
A new Cookie Policy for our website lets you choose which types of cookies we can store. Some cookies are needed to make the website function properly, while others are optional but help us improve your experience of the website. You can change your cookie preferences at any time.
 

ACCURATE AND UP-TO-DATE
It is also our responsibility to make sure the personal information we collect is accurate and up-to-date. Our data clean-up policy ensures that any inaccurate personal data is erased or rectified without delay. When you log onto the website, you will sometimes be asked if your information is up-to-date and if you are still receiving the information you need. For example, tick the events and training box to make sure you are the first to know when registration opens or tick the IQ box to make sure you keep receiving this magazine.

DATA SECURITY IS NEVER COMPROMISED
All our processes and policies are there to ensure that your personal data is secure. This includes protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing and accidental loss, destruction or damage.

Your data will never be compromised and we have processing agreements in place with all third parties that may need to come in contact with your personal data in order to provide us with a service such as hotel rooming lists and website analytic tools.

You can be assured that your personal data is processed in a way that is fair, lawful, secure and transparent.
