Estimated scope 1 emissions (tonne CO2e/yr) - Vehicle Level
Definition:
In the absence of actual data, scope 1 emissions can be estimated based on building characteristics and publicly available data using commercial databases -see PCAF, and/or linear extrapolation could be applied -see CRREM (ref: GRESB). In case estimation is used, please specify in the comment box how the calculations were done, and which critical assumptions were made.
Additional Guidance:
Estimate Scope 1 emissions from direct fuel use (eg natural gas, oil, diesel) under operational control. Where actual consumption data is missing, apply the recognised estimation methods described in ESG3.1.3 (landlord-controlled), ensuring consistency across the portfolio.
Estimated fugitive refrigerant emissions should also be reported under this indicator where the relevant source falls within the vehicle’s operational-control boundary.
Note 1: For emission-factor selection and disclosure, see ESG3.3.
Note 2: Current CRREM guidance does not prescribe a specific gap-filling methodology. Any estimation or gap-filling should be performed outside the CRREM calculation and documented transparently. Where underlying energy consumption is estimated, including through gap-filling or proxy methods, the resulting GHG emissions should also be reported as estimated. See the ESG3.1 energy-estimation guidance for the applicable estimation principles.
Note 3: Clearly document the estimation method, data sources, and assumptions to ensure transparency and comparability over time.
