(Related to Impact Investing) Community development is a process for generating solutions to common problems that involves a community coming together to take collective action. The aim is to build stronger and more resilient local communities by focussing on participative democracy, sustainable development, rights, economic opportunity, equality and social justice. Impact investment strategies focussed on sustainable communities may choose to actively involve community members in decision making and focus on the organisation, education and empowerment of people within their communities.
