This INREV one day course focuses on constructing a non-listed real estate portfolio in today’s market.
The course examines how investors decide their allocations to real estate and build optimal portfolios by size, location and what products are available in the market. This is addressed from the fundamentals of portfolio construction theory and its possible applications as well as the limitations of real estate portfolios.
It looks at real estate investment strategies and the role of real estate in a multi asset portfolio focusing on non-listed real estate vehicles including real life examples.
The course also addresses the role of debt in a real estate portfolio and considers important strategic issues such as developments, fees, risk strategies and fund manager selection.
The course will cover the following topics:
• Investor approaches to portfolio construction
• How to build the optimal target portfolio taking into account market and other limitations
• Issues such as risk/return approaches and diversification in a multi-asset portfolio construction
• Leverage and other strategic issues
